  • Shandong Taishan is one of the most famous figures in China's military history and has been widely recognized for his contributions to the development of modern warfare. Born on February 19, 1882, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, he was a prominent military leader during the early years of the Chinese Revolution. He served as a general officer in the Imperial Army and later became a military advisor to the government.

In 1927, Taishan joined the Communist Party and rose quickly through the ranks of the Red Guards. In 1930, he was appointed as the Chief of Staff of the People's Armed Police and later became General Secretary of the Central Military Commission. During this time, he played a key role in the development of the Chinese army and was instrumental in the establishment of the People's Liberation Army.

In 1946, after the Chinese Civil War broke out, Taishan led the Chinese forces against the Japanese invaders. He played a pivotal role in the Battle of Lingnan, which marked the beginning of the Chinese victory in World War II. His leadership and expertise were highly valued by both the Red Guards and the Chinese people.

After the war, Taishan continued to serve as a military leader, especially during the Cultural Revolution. However, he was eventually exiled to Taiwan and passed away there in 1959. Despite his exile, he remains a revered figure in Chinese military history and is remembered for his bravery, determination, and unwavering commitment to the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Today, Shandong Taishan remains a symbol of the Chinese military tradition and a model of leadership that inspires generations of Chinese soldiers. His legacy continues to be celebrated not just in China but also worldwide, where he is often referred to as the father of modern Chinese military.
